Yellowtail prices around the world

$11.99 (Australian Dollars) in Perth, Western Australia. Didn't Yellow Tail win a Jimmy Watson trophy? Shows how stupid that award can be...

That said, the Casella family is VERY rich now after coming to this country decidedly the opposite. The wine may be shit, but I'm happy for them.

Anders,

Does "USD" mean US Dollars, or "used?"

Lastly, does it go with lutfish?

No, actually "lastly," you were planning a meal, a bit ago, and I cannot find the thread, as to what you finally decided on, regarding the wines. You are very good at finishing thread here, but then, I have been traveling and have not taken a laptop - it's a bit expensive for a US citizen to connect in the UK. What was the final result? (all kidding aside)

Yes, it is the official code for US Dollar. CAD for canadian, GBP for pounds, EUR for Euro.

LOL - The idea of "using" (drinking is not appropriate, it implies pleasure) YT for lutfisk is simply horrific. In fact the idea of serving YT at all is horrific. Not the worst wine I have ever tasted, but definitely not good.

I agree. Not the worst I've had but close. I think the worst wine I've had is from a small winery in southern Michigan. I tasted some wine that was rather brown in color. I about choked when the wine maker stated that particular wine was good for marinating steaks in. You mean I'm not supposed to just drink it? Now you tell me.

Quite. Like some sort of idiot I found myself using wine-sercher to answer the question!

The only tricky thing is knowing what taxes to add in the various countries. In the UK you need to add 17.5% to get retail.

The usual thing in Europe is to state prices to consumers with taxes included. It is only between businesses and for exports that net prices are given. Anders

Ah, "lutfisK," sorry, my spell-checker didn't pick up that one, duh!

Maybe I am fortunate, to not have any firsthand experience with it, but from Anders' (and others') comments, I think I'll pass - also on the YT, though some do comment that the "Reserve" offerings are drinkable.

At least he didn't say that it was most useful for removing rust from tools, left outside!

Leo - by far the best resource for getting the answer to your question is

In fact that is precisely the resource I would turn to to find the price of Yellowtail in the UK, so you may as well do it directly for yourself. Just be aware of the issue with taxes - you'll need to add 17.5% to the quoted UK prices to get the price consumers actually have to pay.

In Ontario the Chard is $10.95, and the Cab Sauv, Merlot, and Shiraz are all $11.95. Prices are in $CAD, all taxes are included.
