Buying old juice......

One of my juice venders is stuck with unsold juice which he is trying to unload at discount. A week ago I bought a Alexander's viognier which had fermented down to 15 brix when I tested it at home. And he keeps the stuff under refrigeration. A week later who knows what the brix is? Can anything good come from these juices? I am tempted to pick some up.

I've bought discounted juice that turned into decent wine, especially considering the price turned to be C$1 a bottle.

Sounds like the Viognier you bought turned out OK.

I'd lowball him an offer for the leftover stuff. Taste and smell before you commit.

Hey, how about this? Offer him wine back in exchange for the juice. That could get you half or more of the product, with zero out of pocket. It might also get you the free use of his refrigeration facilities so you can cold stabilize _all_ your wines.

Bottom line: If the juice seems OK, it's in _both_ of your interests to cut some kind of deal NOW! Otherwise, you both lose.
