Thanks both, what a cool trick! I'd have never have thought that would work.

I just use a piece of thin wire formed into a loop; (that cork came out pretty easy so I'll try that one someday too). If you form a loop and get the cork into the loop it comes right out. I just get the cork into the loop, wrap the other ends around a doorknob and pull the bottle off the cork.

Ya all have too much spare time on your hands.
cool trick though, can't wait until the next party!

Won't the napkin suck up most of the wine? And how much are you going to pour out while the bottle's on its side and you're getting the napkin into the bottle? This seems really impractical.

I figure corks aren't all that expensive but if I really wanted to retrieve it I'd just smack the bottle with a hammer. You put the bottle in a garbage can or something like that so you don't have glass all over the place. Wash off cork. Good to go.
I do that for the bottle, not the cork... :)

It wasn't napkin...

I swore that this wouldnt work, and that you'd rip apart the bag when pulling it out, but it does work slick!
