I've built racks before. I build a 400 bottle rack system for my neighbor. It's just finding the time to make one that I like. This one was $140 delivered. Saved me a bunch of time.

Marty. I looked at the Wine Enthusiast racks and they have the Seville metal rack for $129.95 + shipping. Sams online has the same rack for about $80 delivered. (I think it was $60 or so + the freight to my location, I forget the exact numbers now but it totalled about $80)

I wish I could find the Seville birch wine rack (70 bottle) for cheaper somewhere, but so far no luck.

Crap!!! At that price I might get another.

That book has the most elegant examples of cellars, with the most inefficient use of space. Somewhere inbetween you will have both elegance and efficient storage.

Next rack will be built to hold bottles at a 45 degree angle. I have about 120 magnums (empty, currently) for use and I figure that is the most efficient method for holding them. With the new planer I'm expecting a slightly better quality design :)

And yes- buying it is most definately easier than building it. Almost worth it (not quite in my opinion... but I like building).

That sounds great. Are in a position to refer us to a pictorial design so we can try to build the same thing.
