Archers Brewery in administration

This is certainly a sad day if a brewer as large and as well established as this be in trouble?

Archers are / were well known for selling their beer at a give-away price. This may well of course be a reason for their current situation. Most breweries are running at a low gross profit compared to other business sectors, so the heavy discounters run a high risk of things going wrong. It is also very true that the ex-brewery price of beer from many micros/regionals has not increased in line with other costs, especially energy/fuel costs - despite how things might look to the average drinker.

I suspect more such news in the future...
