Dumfries and Galloway

Hi all,

I have asked this question before, the last time I did not get any replies. The time before I was told about a brewery in Castle Douglas. My main interest, although I will visit the brewery and I thank whom ever told me about that but after a 15 hour shift I am being very rude and not looking you up, gosh what bad English, enormous sentences, I shall put a full stop in here and start again.

Can anyone tell me about pubs that are worth a visit in Dumfries and Galloway ( South West Scotland ) that are worth a visit that are not in the GBG. Thank you all for any input. I am going next week so ideas would be welcome.

I don't know the answer to your question, but it sure sounds like you ~need~ that holiday - enjoy the break !

First the good news! 8^) My wife and I went on holiday to that part of the world a year or two ago and before we went, a real ale fanatic friend of mine - who used to live in Dumfries and Galloway - wrote out a list of decent real ale pubs; all of which turned out to be superb.

Now the bad news! 8^( I cannot find the list. However, I know I have it somewhere, so as soon as I find it I will post the list of pubs. Unfortunately this mate of mine is away at the moment but if all else fails, as soon as he gets back I will ask him to make another list and post it here. However, this could take a week or so.

I do recall however, that Sulwath brewery in Castle Douglas is worth a visit.
