First the good news! 8^) My wife and I went on holiday to that part of the world a year or two ago and before we went, a real ale fanatic friend of mine - who used to live in Dumfries and Galloway - wrote out a list of decent real ale pubs; all of which turned out to be superb.

Now the bad news! 8^( I cannot find the list. However, I know I have it somewhere, so as soon as I find it I will post the list of pubs. Unfortunately this mate of mine is away at the moment but if all else fails, as soon as he gets back I will ask him to make another list and post it here. However, this could take a week or so.

I do recall however, that Sulwath brewery in Castle Douglas is worth a visit.
