Hire of Beer Pump

Hi new poster here, everyone looks friendly though!

I am wondering if anyone can help me, I am looking at running a bar at a Scout event near blackpool and I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere I can hire a beer engine from, in or around liverpool or preston?

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks

Following on from Chris Rutter's message. . .

1 - Much easier (and more tasty) to serve by gravity.

2 - Ask the supplier. Also you may want a local licensee to get the licence for you and they are likely to have some kit. Until the laws were buggered up it used to be a lot harder to get a licence if you were a complete unknown. Now I suspect the premises and the promoter and uncle tom Cobleigh need licences. And you do know that singing will need another licence so no gathering round a camp fire there!

Perhaps somebody can say what procedures need to be followed if you're going to set up a beer tent at say a village fete?

unusually quiet tho.

hi chris, my first port of call would be local microbreweries or poss local camra branches (tho i doubt liverpool camra will have any spare this week, with their annual beerfest on :~) or indeed any pubs, co.s, etc who do outside bars?

possibly a silly question, but won't whoever is supplying the beer loan you a handpump?

Good luck anyway, cheers, MikeMcG

He will probably sell you something cheaper than most places would hire them out (if you could find anyone to hire one out)

If you can stretch as far as Bolton, the Bank Top Brewery will sell you the beer and lend you a hand pump to go with it.

I know it's not any help but I was up Blackpool on the weekend, it was

*bloody cold* with force 7 gales and 10 foot swell !!!

Not even the worst of it, I arrived friday night to meet up with some people, went out Saturday lunchtime to the pump & truncheon behind `Funland` (they had 3 average beers on rotation, though one was a

7%er) and found out from the barmaid I'd just missed the bloody Blackpool beer festival thursday and friday ! Sheesh :-p
