Yawn, and this has what to do with beer?
Cheaper house prices would mean it was even more economic to buy a house for a down and out than to provide a hostel place, there would be many fewer living on the streets and consequently Sainsbury's off-licence sales of canned lager and imitation cider go down. Big "brewers" then profits suffer.
Now that *is* serious!
Hi
Perhaps some people are so depressed when they discover that the price of the house has plummeted, they go out and get drunk!! 8^)

Last summer we were enjoying the beer & sunshine round the bowling green of my local pub. It has just been surrounded by expensive Yuppy flats & we could see the longing on the faces of the new tenants on their balconies. With morgages like they were paying they couldn't afford to go out.
Perhaps the drop in house prices will make it less attractive to buy pubs, close them down and convert them to houses?
