As you know they are VERY new so give them a month or two to get themselves settled. As most of the locals only drink Tennants's they are going to be dependent on tourist trade.

cheers

Well, from the report they sent me (below) for our August issue of the R.A.T.S. newsletter, it sounds as if they're doing 'very well' indeed ...

Here's some information from Paul Hathaway (Islay Ales)

"Dave ...

Islay Ales is doing just fine. We are very busy, selling nearly all of our beers on Islay and having trouble keeping up with demand here! Nice problem to have."

"The 'Black Rock Ale' (4.2%) and 'Finlaggan Ale' (3.7%) have both proved very popular, Four pubs take the beers on handpump, three of which have not had real beer before. About another 12 establishments take the bottle conditioned beers."

"Our beers are going to be launched in Germany this September. 500 bottles are to be shipped to the 'Berlin Whisky Festival' where a reception at the British Embassy will see the Islay Ales entering Europe. It is possible that other export sales will follow."

"We have just launched a new summer ale, 'Saligo Ale' at 4.4%, this pale, refreshing summer ale is made from pale, lager and wheat malt and uses Golding and Bramling Cross hops. Very nice it is too, even if we say so ourselves!" (For more information and pictures, visit
