Disaster.
Not leaving it in a dormant state or at least giving chance of capturing data seems a bit naughty, unless the 'number of reasons' are catastrophic. Is there an archive of the data?

Disaster! Taking it a bit too far aren't you.
So I've been naughty not leaving it to pass on out of date information, when most people told me they used the site because it was so up to date. If I'd have kept the site up, I wouldn't have stopped updating it which is why it's gone. I've spent about 8 years of a lot of my spare time on the site and I need a break or at least to take a back seat. It hasn't been an overnight decision.
I need some time to consider the future, which I shall come to some decision in the new year.

He's even gone and blocked that!
We're sorry, access to
That is very sad. I can see that he would want the information to be up to date but surely he could have put a great big NOT UPDATED banner on a rewritten home page and and at the top of every other page. The change in html would be trivial and it would alow people to use the information on a caveat emptor basis. That or advertise for somebody to take it over.
Rick, thanks for all the hard work keeping Quaffale so spankingly up-to-date for the past 8 years.
I hope it continues in some form in the future, it'll be sorely missed otherwise, cheers MikeMcG BTW - for now at least searching google for specific brewery information formerly on Quaffale still works - click on "cached" under the Google listing - e.g. -
Sad but understandable!
Could you consider having some help? A small committee ..... taking it in turns to update, maybe on a weekly or fortnightly basis?
I presume you got most of your info through people emailing you? That would make it easier for someone to remotely pick up and update .....
