My 5p's worth: the thing I hate about most packets of crisps (and peanuts for that matter) is that they're far too salty for my taste (Walkers being one of the worst offenders IMO).
My dislike has nothing to do with whether it's healthy or not, it's just that I don't like things smothered in salt because after a few mouthfuls I can't eat any more. I guess in pubs it's thought to be good, because people will drink more to wash all that salt away.
I know you can get the unsalted ones (or the ones with separate salt you can add yourself, like all crisps used to be in the old days), but hardly any pubs seem to sell them.
I prefer Seabrooks to Walkers though - I find Walkers a bit lacking in flavour (I'm talking about 'plain' crisps, not the flavoured types, most of which I find disgusting :-P ) - maybe it's something to do with the type of oil they're cooked in? I like Tyrells too but of course they're more pricey.
Rant over - sorry! But I thought, while the subject was being aired... :-)
