Stalybridge Buffet Bar report

We had a good trip to Stalybridge last week but (predictably) I have forgotten the name of my favourite amongst the beers we tried and I was wondering if anyone could jog my sieve-like memory. It's dry as a bone, very hoppy, pale (one of our group thought it was off, bt I'm sure it wasn't, it;s just that he perfers sweeter beers) and it was called something like Alders, or Ambers, Adders... does anyone know the beer I'm on about?

Phoenix Arizona fits the description and is uses the strapline "dry as a bone"

Or even Archers, Arkels??

Even drier, it's "dry as a desert." But this does sound like it could be Arizona.

No but here's a link to their web page - where forthcoming beers indicate nothing with a similar name. Interesting colletcion - not a national or regional among them. Which makes me suspect that it wasn't Adnams.

Pale Rider? Could look like Adder if you look sideways after you've had a couple... :-)

Aldercote?

No - the point I was making was that their "coming up" list didn't include any regionals, so I extrapolated back to assume that the previous beers didn't either. Using the power of statistics ;-)

Thank you to everyone for your suggestions. It was Archers. Thanks for jogging my memory. I can only remember my name by having it at the bottom of these posts.
