Who brews (Lakeland) Damson Gin?

Hi folks, just curious, as a lengthy net search seemed to suggest Strawberry Bank Damson Beer is still available from Strawberry Bank Liqueurs Ltd

but neither quaffale.org.uk , beermad.org.uk nor GBG 2007 seem to know where it's now brewed.

Anyone any idea?

cheers,

Mike McG. (oddly I think it used to be brewed by Old Luxters, near Henley On Thames, for bottle at least)

It was definitely Old Luxter's when I was there 12 months ago.

Hang on, in the subject you say gin, in the body, beer. Let me clarify: the beer was being brewed by Old Luxter's (Bucks is it?) about 12 months ago. The gin is made near Kendal in Cumbria.

I did mean the beer, apologies for the confusion. It's been brewed at OL for many a year then ~ & by the sounds of it, still is. Mike.

I've had this down as Burton Bridge - it certainly appears alongside other Burton Bridge products in various farm shops.

Cheers

used to contract brew for Lakeland, but that this stopped in 2000 (though BB apparently still brew their own 'Damson Porter', 4.5%).

It also seems that Strawberry Bank / Masons Arms stopped brewing altogether in 2000.

These were the 2 Cumbrian brewers that I knew had previously brewed a Damson Ale (although, as mentioned above, one of them seems to have had it contract-brewed near Henley On Thames, the other in Burton On Trent).
