On behalf of a colleague who will be visiting Worcester next month. Grateful for any recommendations in addition to current GBG entries or comments on same?

Thanks in advance, Graham.

You can do a really good bar crawl in the Dragon... stay in one pub and do all the beers on the bar...

Deja vu?

Looks like the Dragon will be busy. I hope the licensee likes geologists.

Richard likes anyone who drinks in a sensible fashion and spends money in his pub. For those who don't know, the Dragon is one of that small group of pubs where the staff will try and find one of the beers they have on that matches something else you have had that you liked. They even do the same for reforming[1] lager drinkers.

[1] Should that be "recovering" ? It probably should be seen as an unfortunate affliction.

PS. Anthony, your news client seems to be broken as it isn't responding to the newline+dash-dash-space of Christines signature separator (which is why it ended up as quoted material in your reply)

You will have to explain that to me, I thought it was working fine,

See above.

The two dashes you see should have been cut off along with everything after them. Equally your signature should have a similar dash, dash, space, newline to help everyones news/mail client cut off the trailing (signature) material.

Perhaps if you load oe-quotefix things will work better for you.

I'll copy this comment and show it to his staff! I am sure much mirth and hilarity will follow. Just remember to refer to the "Banned subjects list" on the wall and that he hates "the flat beer and tickers brigade" - probably why I get on with himn so well!

Hmm, tickers. A subject we have both agreed on for some years (prior to him being in the Coventry area) but probably a good part of the reason he made the money from the beer delivery business.

After spending a few hours in the Dragon on Sunday evening I have to agree. Shame I went to the Postal Order (Wetherspoons) for food earlier on. Tried the Saracens over the road on the Monday night with the group I was with. Not too bad although the beer range was not inspiring. Had lunch in the Malvern Hills Hotel by British Camp on Tuesday afternoon - lovely place, great beer.

Indeed! If you'd have stuck with the Dragon, there are loads of curry restaurants on the same side of the road from there, and it has been observed that you can get a takeaway from the nearest and bring it in to the Dragon and eat it in the bar!
