After just a few days of light to moderate use my Cunill emitted a rather larger blue electrical flame and a few puffs of burnt wire smoke from the top of the machine, and then went dead. RIP Mssr. Cunill! The entire experience has me questioning the quality of the Tranquilo. I googled the alt.group and identified that approximately
10 other alties have reported similar problems.
However, has anyone had any problems with any other Cunill models, in particular the Brasil. From what I can gather from reading others' posts, it seems that the timer switch is grounding out on the metal body of the Tranquilo. Given the fact that the Brasil's body is made of plastic, I thought the dangerous electrical short may not be present in this model. Any help is greatly appreciated.
PS has anyone, whose orgininal Tranquilio shorted out, had any problems with their replacement?
Thanks,
