Actually, there is a fairly decent supply of miniature bottles (the "technical" term) available but it requires a lot of digging to find them. The best place I have ever seen is Buster's Liquors in Memphis, TN. 2 years ago, while visiting for a wedding, I stumbled into this store and was amazed at the wall (literally) of miniatures available. I must of picked up 15-20 scotchs for the very reason mentioned here --- to try new ones. They also have a website, but TN law prohibits shipping so it's not much good (they also don't have a lot of info about the miniatures there either). The website is

I have also been told that Las Vegas has a good selection of miniatures available in most liquor stores, but can not yet confirm this.
