I accepted an invite to dinner with a business associate last night and we met at a local steakhouse. I started with a glass of the house pour Chardo nnay which was from a small Sonoma winery called Roche. The wine was just OK with roasted pineapple and citrus flavors. At dinner my host ordered a bottle of the 2010 Celani Tenacious Red which the server described as a 60/
40 merlot/cab franc blend. The nose was fairly tight with little fruit sho wing and a bit of black coffee. The wine was mid-weight, red raspberry and cherry a bit of coffee and a lot of Napa dust. The tannins while not huge were still quite rough and a bit bitter. I think the wine was on special for $75 but it wasn't worth it. C+- posted
