Antinori Campogrande Orvieto Classico 2002

Hi all, Thought I'd try a white wine from this producer because Antinori Santa Cristina is one of my favorite reds. I'm totally ignorant about Italian wines, so I don't have a clue about the subject wine. I have several bottles and I'm wondering what this wine compares to.

Any thoughts, TNs, food/wine pairings would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Dick

I haven't had this in a couple of vintages, and have no clue re 2002. But this has in the past been a good QPR. I think mostly the workhorse Trebbiano Toscano , with some Grechetto or other grapes. At it's best it's a nice, crisp, fairly neutral wine that should be a nice backdrop for lighter dishes, maybe seafood. My one warning is in at least one previous warm vintage (I think '97) it was quite ripe, which upped the fruit but dropped the acidity making it less food-friendly than I liked. Be sure to report!
