Funny you should ask. I tasted that at the exhibition in Copenhagen (vide supra), the 2003 vintage to be exact. It behaves like a Rosso di Montalcino and goes with the same things. 2003 apparently was just as iffy in Toscana as in SOuthern France - you may not want to keep it very long. Red meat would appear in order, or possibly game - just not too savoury.
Just my 50 cents, you understand, it was one of the last booths, and the organoleptic memory gets clogged up.
