...for my ill-placed remarks in the "mostly American wines" thread. Now that I've had time to cool off, it is obvious to me that my political comments would have been better suited to a "talk.politics" newsgroup. My future posts will focus on wine, and wine ONLY.
Well for what it's worth I've had reason to apologize for the same thing in the past.
I have strong political views too (which are almost totally opposite to the ones you have previously expressed in this group), and I know how hard it is to just let some things pass, particuarly when people post political stuff. So you're not alone.
Thankfully, and thanks to many of the regulars, this group remains one of the most polite and welcoming around. So thanks to all the regulars.
So my small contribution is lets all have hugs and bury the hatchet, and lets all try to avoid any sensitive OT topics in the future.
Agreed, Mat. With this being an election year, I've been pretty touchy about politics, and I tend to forget that not everyone is interested in such things.
It happens to most of us, at one time, or another. "Be still, fist-of-death!" I often have to go do something else, least I make an OT, usually political, or geocentric, comment even when wine related. I've "been there."
