what is the difference in taste or smell between merlot, grenache, syrah, cabernet sauvignon cultivated in France or cultivated in the New World



is there a website where man compared wines made from these grapes

The biggest difference is in the wine more than the grape though the degree of sugar and some of the minerality may show up in the grape. the wine is more concentrated and therefore a better show place. That and one doesn't eat that many wine grapes but the proof is in the drinking.
