Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru les Caillerets. Somewhere in the back of my mind this wine deserves a second chance as there were good things happening but something just didn't seem right like mildly corked or something.

First off the nose was a bit funky, then the wine poured dark, well in truth light amber. On the mouth it was medium to full bodied with a very serious nutty flavor on the finish. (My daughter said bacon and she may have been right on with that appraisal) It went well enough with the turkey but I was sure wishing I had the two bottles of Chablis I could have had for the price of this one. I put it up to too much oak in the finish, but I am suspicious that the oak in question was the bark of a certain oak from Portugal.

I tried some of the left over and it is just awful today so so much for the second time around mellowing thing.
