Can´t help you, very seldom drink the stuff that is available here

LAst week-end we had a sangiovese (Chianti mostly) tasting (unfortunately young ' uns, barely out of kindergarten), and did a lamb casserole with spring onions, white wine, stock, dab of tomato sauce and fennel seeds (also garlic and a red pepper which I removed before serving). Very good pairing in my exalted opinion.

Muscat of what kind? There are all sorts, from the delightfully crisp, dry, Goldmuskatell from Alto Adige, to the black syrupy Oz "Tokay".

Cheers

BBQ Ribs, Thai

Pizza, pasta w/red sauce

Spicy foods such as Mexican Bold foods such as a good steak

Zesty Italian (red sauces) Most any dish not bold enough for a Zin.

Since I don't really like whites that much I tend to drink sangiovese for many meals where a lighter wine is preferred.

Dunno. Don't drink it.
