Fragolino & the Isabella grape

On various occasions I have purchased the Italian sweet sparkling dessert wine called Fragolino. It has been a mixed experience ranging from delightful to a near approximation of something from Annie Greensprings. After looking into the subject I learned that the original Fragolino was made from the American Isabella grape which imparted a natural strawberry flavor to the wine. However, the EU has prohibited commercial production of wine from the Isabella grape and all current commercial Italian Fragolino is made from other grapes and artificially flavored.

So, since the Isabella is an American grape and still grown commercially in the US, is it possible that any American vintners are producing a natural sparkling wine from this grape that would be something like a true Fragolino.

I did a Google search on this subject but found nothing in the last 6 years.
