But, does it have any meaning? No indication that wine prices are climbing, especially from France, Spain, or Italy, the center of this storm.

Had a big discussion of this today at our main local wine store. The distri butors felt this whole story was overblown and with little to no meaning fo r the wine business. Wine prices are actually dropping, the opposite of wha t one would expect from a shortage. That being said, climate change may imp act the wine business heavily over the next 5-10 years with some areas not being able to produce wines at all.

True, but other marginal areas will come more into mainstream wine production. I am thinking of England in particular, but there must be others.
