Happy New Year from the UK

I have at last managed to get a missive out onto AFW. I have not posted much of late, but the notes have been read avidly.

Part of the reason for not posting is that I had a Left total knee replacement before Christmas, and then had a series of complications, ( always the same if you are in the trade). With a Hb of 9.5 on Christmas day, my brain was not really working, but had a bootle of Pauillac 2005 with roast pork, huge, massive extract and tannins all in balance. Infanticide, try again 2 years. This the 3rd wine of Latour.

Will continue to lurk and may be able to get our annual dinner notes third hand. My only second miss in 29 years.

Cheers JT

John, Sorry to hear of your ailments. Here's hoping for a swift recovery. And don't forget to exercise that new knee of yours! Thanks for the note on the Paulliac 2005 -- I have a bottle of the 2003 that my group gave me a few years ago.
