Le Cigare Volant 2001

maybe it is a case of expectations exceeding realities, maybe just a falling short of expectations, but I have been expecting more from this wine for several years. I finally tried it tonight and found a lovely nose full of Syrah type notes, a little leather, heavy and welcoming, the mouth was cmfortable with soft tannis but something was missing, and I can't quite put my finger on it. A very nice wine but not a CdP no spicy pepper from the Grenache it rested just a little too heavy and dull on the palate.

I would be very interested to hear others expereinces with this wine. Is it hype over substance ( I love Graham's Big House Red and his Clos du Gilroy has always been a delight, so I am not adverse to the winemaker) I think maybe I expected too much.
