Just read that Andre Lurton whites, including La Louviere, will be bottled under Stelvin starting (IIRC) in 2003. Source Le Figaro.
So, Stelvin is clearly making some inroads in Bordeaux...

Please let it start to make some inroads in Italy too. Two Barolos opened last night (different years, different makers, different vendors, different storage) both corked.
Thankfully the 389 was fine (though a bit young).

You know you've had a good night when you wake up and someone's outlining you in chalk.
Penfolds 389? Which year was it?
Ian
2000 - i.e. complete infanticide. It was pleasant without being outstanding. After the experience of two corked Barolos a pleasant taste was what was sought. I wasn't taking notes, but from memory, it was mildly jammy on the nose, quite light and probably heading into a dumb phase. Decent acidity and tannins for the medium-long term. It was drunk a bit cold as it came straight from the "cellar" which is at about 10 degrees c.

Thanks. I have a very small quantity of the '98 winking temptingly at me. Penfold's TN describe it as "drinking 2005 - 2020", but how long into that window my patience lasts is another matter.
Cheers,
Ian
