Pairing wine with McDonalds

I wonder if Wendy's has a corkage charge?

Seriously interesting and not totally surprising though I am not sure I would eat any of the offerings or drink any of the wines. . .

I remember in college getting all dressed up for a concert and going to the dining commons with my date taking a bottle of fine wine (well as fine as a college student could afford).

A good bottle of wine can make the lowliest meal much better.

Although you may find it difficult to believe, I have never tasted anything from McDonalds. Since they now have several types of food, a pairing of wine with their foods could be a bit more interesting than in the past when they mainly sold hamburgers and fries. To serve with most foods from McDonalds and many other fast food chains, I would suggest Vietnamese lizard wine which contains two large geckos, various herbs, and plenty of extremely hot Vietnamese peppers. It is based on rice wine. This should match nearly everything about equally well, since after a sip or two, you likely will not notice much difference in the taste of a hamburger and foie gras. Thus you can pay more attention to the wine and not be distracted by attempting to see if the wine matches one food better than another :-). Of course if Godzilla is a dragon and considers a dragon to be a reptile, drinking a wine made using geckos might seem a little too close to cannibalism for comfort :-).

It is perhaps unkind of me to repeat the experience, but after a recent visit to Little Caesar's Pizza, I attempted to joke with my spouse who has Alzheimer's: "It was very good, except that the Sommelier forgot to bring me the wine list."

Her deadpan response: "Maybe you have to ask for it."

There is a McDonald's just a block from Le Louvre on Rivoli as I recall and they have splits of wine available. I didn't go in but walked by it a number of times (it is litterally on the sidewalk) and found it interesting that they referred to the pommes frites as French Fries on the menu.
