That's pretty hopeless, actually -it could have been thousands of wines! But for the hell of it, give him a try with a white from Friuli- isn't Cortina in north? Friuli-Venezia-Giulia and Alto Adige and adjoining areas might be best bet. Several grapes are common in white wine- pinot grigio, tocai, sauvignon blanc, many more, Good luck. Dale

Back in 1967 - a good guess could also include ubiquitous wines at the time: Soave, or Frascati.

Whether a wine is "really good" is often a function of ambience. Holidays at a nice place far away from home usually have a positive influence on the taste of any wine :-) Now, a recommendation with seafood, low-priced (as most were in 1967, especially for dollar tourists) and local points to an Italian wine, not necessarily from near Cortina. Even an upscale hotel at that time would select an uncomplicated but good wine as their recommended one for seafood. Soave might be the most probable, Orvieto or Frascati a bit off for locality but are pretty ubiquitous. But the possibilities are near infinite, I'm afraid. Anders
