And what do you think of them? Good? Excellent? Would try more? Overpriced?

Michael, may I ask where did you drink our wines?

By the way. I find it quite interesting, that foreign people know mostly one of these Slovenian wines:

- Simcic

- Movia

- Lepa Vida

- Scurek

- Batic

All of these wines come from the westeren part of Slovenia that lies on the border with Italy and are of course a bit simmilar to Italian wines from, let's say, Friuli region.

But, I am familiar with Avia, which has been imported to the DC area for at least 35 years.

Very good whites, merkedly less good in red. Movia best estate overall.

In Slovenia and at home (Vienna, Austria). All contacts came from Slavka Fraueneder:

Very good whites, markedly less good in red (thin and often overcropped), except for Movia (best estate overall).

Likewise. Avia is the only Slovene make available in PA. The Riesling is quite good for the price, though it has an odd honeydew color.

Are you sure it is Riesling, then? I think you'll often find "Laszki Rizling" a lesser relative (if at all related) of the "Rhine Riesling" of Germany. Anders
