South Jersey wine , part 2

Second installment of reviews of wines from the southern tip of the Garden State, these are all from Hawk Haven Vineyard, just North of Cape May.

2022 Dry Rose Peachy pink color, grape/strawberry nose, strawberry & tart cherry flavors, somewhat like Provence rose.

2022 Riesling Very light straw color, typical peach and gasoline aromas, semi-sweet flavors of peach/honey/melon. Easy to like.

2022 Sauvignon Blanc Pale gold in appearance, atypical aromas of peach and Meyer lemon, apricot & pear flavors with a touch of lime, a trace sweet. Not what I expect from SB, but pleasant enough.

Thanks, actually sounds like worth a stop. Cape May is so beautiful that drinkable wine is a bonus! Do you know if the rose is Provencal-esque varieties (Mouvedre, grenache, cinsault, carignan, etc)?

The varieties weren't on the bottle, so this is copy/pasted from their website: Cabernet Franc 34%, Cabernet Sauvignon 21%, Merlot 14%, Pinot Noir 11%, Petit Verdot 8%, Petite Sirah 5%, Malbec 3%, Tempranillo 2%, Syrah 2% Everything but Provence, it would appear!

Thanks so much for this trip report, Dan. The next time in the area, I'll give them a try. That rosé especially sounds quite appealing.

I only wish I'd had this idea when I went down to Ocean City MD last year! No telling what I might've found in that vicinity.
