TN: Christmas Dinner

Jim,

thanks for notes (post more often!). Especially liked the Loire note. Have had both the 2002 Huet Le Mont sec and their '89 Haut Lieu 1er Trie Moelleux, what fantastic wines.

If I come to Tokyo in May, any interest in an "offline"? Dale

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. Actually, one of my New Years resolutions is to get more organized about transcribing my tasting notes from my mind or the scrap of paper where they reside. Of course, this probably means I'll also be inflicting them on others more often.

I love those Huet wines. There are only a few things that I can come back to again and again just be stunned every time....great Loire chenin blanc, certain red and white Burgs, certain Barolos and Barbarescos, the occasional stunning Mosel. I love lots of other wines, but those are the ones that have the ability to knock me flat even though I think I know what's coming.

If you make it to Tokyo, I would love to do an offline. My other NY resolution is to try to get a semi-regular tasting group together over here. I've indentified a few suspects. Your visit would be a great excuse to get something put together...whether just a coupel of us or something more substantial.

Take care,

Jim
