[TN] '00 Dom. de L'Espigouette CdR

Jan 11, 2008 0 Replies

Tonight, with a late dinner of spaghetti with tomato sauce and a bit of leftover vension-black bean chili, I opened:

2000 Domaine de L'Espigouette Côtes du Rhône Vieilles Vignes nose: minerals, gamey, cherries palate: medium body, high acidity, fruit, meat

A perennial QPR favorite in this house, the 2000 version departed somewhat from the usual mold, being a bit thinner and brighter than normal. As it happened, that was perfect for the tomato sauce, but less ideal for the chili. Still, a very happy wine to drink and a good match with the food. Imported by J et R and $10.95 at purchase.]
