Opened last night with dinner:
1999 Dom. de L'Espigouette Côtes du Rhône (importer: J et R) nose: meaty, meaty and some cherry liqueur underneath palate: meaty, fruity, medium bodied, good acidity
The '98 version of this wine was a house favorite 2-3 years ago. This wine by comparison is a bit less rich, but also has greater acidic backbone (probably a reflection of the different year). It went very well with a light meal of gazpacho and leftover lamb.
