Last night Betsy made some crunchy pork chops accompanied by salad as well as a pasta with goat-cheese & basil pesto. The 2004 Clos Roche Blanche Touraine Sauvignon played quite nicely with the chevre, though something bigger or redder might have been a better match for the chops. Grassier/greener than 2000-2002 versions (don't think I tried the '03), although that might be partially because it was a little warm (straight from my passive cellar, so maybe 62°F). Nice balance of acidity and melon/citrus fruit, though I wish there was a tad more of the mineral spine I recalled from earlier vintages. Again, that might be the temp. Good wine at $10-11, I wish I'd chilled a bit more. B/B+
