[TN] 2005 I Botri di Ghiaccioforte Morellino

With a dinner tonight of cheese tortellini with pesto and Kenyan kale, Jean asked for an Italian red. Ever one to olige, I opened a recent purchase:

2005 Az. Ag. Biologica i Botri di Ghiaccioforte Morellino di Scansano "Vigna i Botri"

nose: initially, pencil lead and dusty cherry, later turning tarry palate: medium body, smooth tannins, pleasant acidity, rich fruit

A recent purchase recommended to me by the staff at CSW at my last visit as drinking well now. Once again, their advice proved to be accurate, as this wine was indeed ready to go tonight. Really a nice expression of Sangiovese in a slightly more sturdy vein than one typically gets in Chianti.
