Paso Robles Wine Festival?

I'll be attending The Paso Robles Wine Festival for the first time on May

19th. There will be so many wineries pouring wine at the festival. What are the top wineries in the area? Who should I not miss? I drink both whites and reds. Cheers, Rick

Not knowing your tastes, Rick, it's hard to answer. However, Tablas Creek (as Dale said) makes very interesting Rhone-styled wines. Justin, Garretson, L'Aventure and Linne Calodo are also well worth exploring. For those and other choices, with brief descriptions, see Sect. 3b of the FAQ, found in my sig.

L'Aventure was my personal favorite when in Paso last time.

Depends on what you like. For me I like big reds and Paso Robles is known for its Zinfandels. That said two produce a Zin that stands out far above anything else there. Opolo and Wild Coyote.

There are at least 3 major maps produced for the Paso Robles wineries I found in the local hotels lobby brochure rack. One of my favorites is the Far Out Wineries map. It lists the lesser known or the wineries not on the main roads. I enjoy them because they are not crowded and often have some of the better wines.
