Collange is a very small domaine in the least posh parts of Northern RHone, out in the plains east of Tain. Sometimes they do good stuff - the 2000 Croze Hermitage white (I _think_ it was 2000?) was very good, f´r instance. Visitors take note: Sleeping dog will be provided on prior application to owner. The S:t J is a rather nice piece of work, wery much Syrah, but lacks a bit in body; nose of pepper and red fruits (more cranberry than strawberry) and a whiff of pepper; fresh and acidic with a good follow up of fruit, a hint of violets. In the terms of good guy Dale, a resounding B.
We raise our glasses to the people of Iraq - for holding an election, the most elementary thing in a democracy ... all hail.
Cheers
