BTW, this example highlights one of my pet peeves: unfiltered wines that aren't tended properly. If that wine had been more carefully made, it should not have thrown that much sediment in bottle. That sediment contains a huge colony of spoilage organisms, which is why it was so strongly musty and barnyardy. Maintaining correct levels of SO2 in _healthy_ barrels that are kept topped up is essential for making good wine - especially Pinot Noir.
