Trivia Quiz!

Hey, it is holiday season under the summer sun here in New Zealand (telling the truth it is raining dogs and cats) - I am bored, and I have one colourful (note, correct spelling!!) 2005 pictorial calendar surplus to my immediate requirements, which is yours!

OK - the *very first* to come up with *the correct answers* to all of the ten questions can have it - free; gratis; posted anywhere in the world!

So, here is your challenge - should you choose to accept!

(1) Discover my real email address (yes, it IS available!) (2) Send your answers to the following questions - VIA EMAIL (please do not clutter a.f.w.) (3) Please include your postal address!!!!!

Q.1 What was "Harpagornis Moorei" and what was it's claim to fame? Q.2 "Facetious" is one of two words in the English language, containing each of the five vowels, once only, in alphabetic order. What is the second? Q.3 Sauvignon Blanc is the most widely planted white variety in New Zealand. What is the most widely planted red? Q.4 Cloudy Bay is without doubt NZs most renowned wine, but the CB is not NZ owned. Which Champagne House owns Cloudy Bay? Q.5 NZs national winter sport is Rugby Union, which was once (only) included at the Summer Olympics. Which country won the Gold Medal? Q.6 Who is Robert Zimmerman better known as? Q.7 In grape growing terms, where is Terra Rossa found? Q.8 How many NZers have won the New York Marathon? (Hint - name them!) Q.9 On 10th July, 1985, in a blatant act of state sponsored terrorism, French Secret Service agents bombed a Greenpeace vessel, moored in Auckland harbour. What was the name of that ship? Q.10 In which island state would you find St.Helier?

I am sole arbiter; bribes readily accepted (vinous only); no correspondence shall be entered into.

Have fun

Hey, thanks for brightening up my holiday - yes, it is still "persisting" down with rain - expecting a wet New Years Eve (in more ways than one!)

Calendar on the way to - James Nurthen of San Francisco (100%) Consolation calendar going to a.f.w. regular contributor Joseph Coulter of Florida for your beautifully researched response (Q.8 Rod Dixon won the men's event in 1983!)

Won't post the answers, I figger that if you cared, you would know them already.

If this weather doesn't let up, I may try another.

Not quite Michael, as the correct answerer in the ongoing contest I shall not divulge the actual parent but suffice it to say that Veuve is a sister rather than a parent.

They call me a wandering wine encyclopedia over here - but apparently this applies to trivia of all sorts, too ... ;-)

It seems that they are so inbred that one of them in the words of the great song may indeed be its own grandpa!
