Wine Spotting

I really want to find a bottle of Sticks 2004 Chardonnay or Innocent Bystander 2004 Shiraz Viognier. They seem to be pretty respected bottles for under $20. It's frustrating going to my local Costco sometimes. They never seem to have quite what I'm looking for, though I usually find something to buy in their stead.

I finally had my Kim Crawford 2006 Sauvignon Blanc for Easter dinner. It was really good too. I'm going to pick up another bottle one of these days.

I found a wine shop down the street from me. I have finally secured a bottle of Innocent Bystander! It was $18 but it feels kind of cool to actually own a bottle of it. :0)

One of the problems with Costco is they often buy in lots. When that box is gone, it is gone! See my comments on Glen Carlou, Paarl, SA Bdx. blend. It was great, while it lasted.

Wow I saw it up close! At $80 a bottle, rated a full 98 by Wine Advocate, several cases of 2005 Amon Ra Shiraz. They had it at Total Wine, a new store which just opened up in my city. It's probably the highest rated wine I've ever physically laid eyes upon and seems to be the talk of the town. I could never see myself paying that much for wine, however.
