Does anyone have a copy of "Wines of the Great Plains", a spoof piece that appeared in Harpers (I think) about 15 years ago?
Thanks,
earle

Don't have a copy, but if you want to look in a library, it was in Atlantic Monthly (not Harper's) in May 1981.
I tried Googling this. What I discovered that Travel.com is another one of those places mirroring AFW and filling its "Wine Forum" with our posts. At least they don't put fake stupid monikers on our posts:
But their cloned threads are badly broken. For instance, none of my posts appear there, nor those of several other posters. It's still a sleazy practice, though.

FWIW, a quick search of my munged From header turns up the following sites that poach our material:
(Without reference to afw): forums.travel.com
(With reference to afw):
It seems like a lot of these sites come and go rather quickly (apart from the explicitly designed Usenet portals), but it still is quite sleazy when they don't even cite alt.food.wine as their source.
