X-Mas Wine Decorations.

Wife made a nice Lamp out of a double magnum of Schramsberg 1994 etched bottle of sparkling wine. Came out GREAT!!!!

If anyone here wants an idea for holiday gifts I can send a pic...was easy to do....I can explain by sending a pic....this one is cool.

I bought 2 empty bottles from a winery for gift to a friend as the bottles

1994 was the year he was married and the same wine they served at wedding.

Just an idea.

Also, our house is decorated for holidays...wife strung cork garland on tree by drilling corks and threading them with cork and cranberry beads on each end...up and down the stairs etc.

Now I realize when I see all those corks...why my liver was in bad shape :-)

Dick,

I'd be interested in knowing more about your lamp. My wife is wanting to turn a 1.75 liter Vox vodka bottle into a lamp but it involves cutting out the bottom of the bottle. Did you have to cut any glass?

TIA

Yes. My wife bought a cheapo Glass drill bit...

Drilling took about 5 min.

The hardest part was fishing the cord throught the cork. But not hard...just had to think is trough. I removed just to top of the foil and cage then replaced the foil. Drilled large hole through top of bottles cork.

Then at base just above the Punt on back drilled hole.

You can guy a lamp kit for bottles at virtually any hardware store. Plus you can buy a 3 way adapter so you can have 3 way bulb if needed. The bottle kits are with our without Harp adaptable.

Pretty easy.

Sounds nice, can you post a pic somewhere? Maybe upload to imageshack and post the url here or something?

I have many, many empty bottles that I need to do something with.
