Just wondering if anyone has noticed screw cap bottles on the market for home winemakers.
I'm kind of partial to corks myself, in spite of the risks, but would like to experiment with the screw caps. Was reading up on Stelvin closures. Unlike cork though, you need a threaded neck. One option for acquiring screw cap bottles is to buy screw cap wine and save them. But haven't seen them on the home winemakers market around here.

Stelvins will be tough, they are machine applied.
If you want a good screw cap Presque Isle sells a better quality one and the bottles, the price is about the same as cork. I'm sure other suppliers have them too. This one has a high quality seal.

I have been using screw cap bottles for at least the last 6 years. I get whiskey bottles from local bars. They are a lot more convenent that corks. I also use beer bottles.

Also try local coffee shops. The flavored syrup bottles are great.

You could just buy/find champagne glass and use a beer crown.
