Belfast pub recommendations please

Aug 03, 2007 1 Replies

I'll be spending an evening in Belfast (on my own) and so hope to find the solace of a decent pub.

I've seen some very negative comments about real ale in Belfast and we're at that time of year where the GBG listings are now over a year old (due to the lead in time for the previous edition of the book).

Can someone offer a fairly recent recommendation for a decent pub or two in central Belfast please?

Cheers.

BTW I enjoyed the Hilden Silver very much. I'm generally with Peter Alexander on the other two! I had a very good pint in a raucous Spoons just round the corner from the Crown (I forgot to note the name at the time). The Crown is a must, of course, regardless of beer quality. It's opposite Great Victoria Street station.
