Betwixt Brewing

I came across "Dark Matter" in the Marble Arch, Manchester last night. A very rich and satisfying stout. Well done Mike. Peter

Indeed. Had it Sat lunchtime and it was excellent. So was the Pictish Centenbial btw.

Glad you enjoyed it chaps!

Based on a black lager grist, with UK-grown cascades (though you can't really taste them with all that dark malt)

I want to tweak it a bit next brew - aiming for less roast, more choc, more hoppiness.

I was at an odd event today -

- in a park in Wavertree (Liverpool) - intended as a German beerfest & market, with local bands & an authentic oompah band, plus a small range of bottled & keg German beers & wine & staff in leather pants (not full-on liedrhosen) & sort of (ahem) serving-wench dresses.

Beers included Erdinger pale & dark (sponsored the event? - big banners) Funstenberger Pils & a couple of others (£3-3.50/pint). The rain didn't help, but the music & the Brat was pretty good & the Pils was lovely. Just not enough folks at the fest & it felt a bit disjointed. cheers MikeMcG
