Bottled beers in London Stores

Oct 01, 2003 5 Replies

Hi

I know of the couple of specialized beer stores in London (Pitfield and the one in Commercial Road) but what about stores like Tesco and Safeways (and others)? For example, in 2002 I found a good selection in a Tesco near Shep Bush tube station. What is the present situation? Better Tesco, Safeway or maybe another chain? Besides, do all the stores in a chain have the same beer selection, or you'd better go to specific location? I am interested in places in Central London... any info is welcome!

PS I am mainly interested in UK BC ales, but I am also curious about the Dogfish Head beers mentioned here a few times... is it possible to find them in London?

Not a store, but also worth looking at is the stall in Borough Market which had a reasonable range of bottled beers plus a small bar with a real ale on.

they're called UTOBEER.

Hi

You might want to try

- I've used them before and they have a BIG selection of bottled beers from all over the world. I got my Dad a Strong Belgian Selection and he loves it!
