Good Beer In Bolton

Anyone know of any good pubs in Bolton. Obviously there are the GBBF

2007 ones. Are these all still up to snuff? Any others worth considering?

You could also try The Howcroft just off Vernon St. (Tetley's on handpump and smooth, Taylor's Landlord, and two guests, one of which is normally a Bank Top Brewery offering) and The Hope & Anchor (Tetley's and Lee's) on Chorley Old Road, opposite The Doffcocker Inn (Holts).

In town, there's The Man & Scythe on Churchgate and The Hen and Chickens on Deansgate. If you don't like smoke in pubs, avoid Barrister's as the landlord has just been prosecuted for allowing his customers to smoke on the premises.
