As I understand it, Managers of Wetherspoons outlets are permitted to buy in beers from any brewery within a 15 (IIRC) mile radius. This would account for the presence of beers from local micros on their bars.
My local occasionally has 3Rivers beers on the bar. I have to say I find them not particularly to my own personal taste.
It certainly did for one microbrewer of my acquaintance - caused health problems while filling his bank balance. Understandably he sold the brewery before it did him and his wife any further damage.

36 gallons seems a lot are you having a party or got the size wrong, the correct generic is cask.
